Mary Louttit was a daughter of Drummond Louttit and Betsy Flaws. In 1862 Mary, the daughter, had a son, Alexander Learmonth Reid . He married Harriet Logie, a daughter of Robert Logie.  They had two sons, Alexander b. 1890, who served with the Canadian Forces in World War 1, and Harry b. 1894 who died in that war and was given a military funeral in Rousay in May, 1917. Harriet had died shortly after Harry's birth. For many years thereafter, Alex. worked as a gardener at Melsetter, on Hoy. When he retired he returned to Rousay to live at Hullion Cottage until his death in 1945. Peter, born in 1847, was the father of Elizabeth Reid who was born in 1868. See.

John b. 1857 built a new house at Grain but died shortly afterwards. His daughter, Mary, was married to Charles Louttit, a shepherd at Westness, who was killed in WW 1. The Louttits were the last people to live in the old Westside school.

Betty ded at Moan in 1931 aged 93.  David and Ann lived at Branstane, Westray latterly. Alexander and Mary Rousay had three children, Thomas, Betsy, and Ann. Betsy married John Cooper, and their daur. Elsie married John Bain of Grotz in Westray. Ann Rousay married James Robertson. Their grandson is Tommy Robertson. John Robertson went to Canada.
