William A820 was a fisherman. In his younger days he worked for the Hudson Bay Company, and with his savings he set up a shop at Cogar. The shop was later transferred to the Old School, now Ivybank. His son, William M. Craigie, who was a minister, died at sea aged 24.

Annabella’s parents were James Chalmers and Ann Flaws.

Maggie married George Hackeston, a policeman. (See). The whole of this family went south. Only John returned to Orkney. Prior to that, he had been coachman to the Coats family in Paisley of A. J. and P. Coats, Threadmills. On leaving their service, he was presented with a bicycle, the first one to come to Rousay.
